Introduction to the Two Farmers

The founders of the Two Farmers, Sean and Mark are both passionate about the Herefordshire countryside and their potatoes. Their potatoes are award winning and they started with the idea of the Two Farmers brand one night down at the pub. From there they have grown their brand and now produce 5 varieties of crisps. These are all packaged in compostable and recyclable packages. The Two Farmers grow, harvest, store, cook and package their crisps in order to remain in complete control of the whole process and make sure the final product is up to their high standards. The two founders aim is to help advocate and develop Herefordshire County as one of great agricultural achievements with their British crisps.

The Two Farmers product range

The Two Farmers have 5 different types of flavours available for their hand cooked crisps. Lightly salted, Hereford Bullshot, Hereford Hop Cheese & Onion, Salt & Cider Vinegar and Herefordshire Sausage & Mustard. All of these crisps are gluten free and do not contain any artificial flavours, colours or preservatives. Some are also suitable for vegans or vegetarians. The packets are available in two different sizes, either 40g or 150g depending on your preference. Additionally, the packets are fully compostable and take just over 26 weeks to do so if home-composted. This is because the crisp packet materials have carefully been selected and consist of cellulose and sustainably grown eucalyptus trees. If you are looking to buy the crisps for a catering service or to buy wholesale, there is also a 500g, fully recyclable tin available.

How do the Two Farmers produce their crisps?

Firstly the potatoes are planted in April and then are cared for up until their harvest in September. The varieties grown include Lady Claire, Lady Rosetta and Taurus as these deliver excellent results for crisps in taste, colour and crispness. Once they are graded they are then stored in sheds at specific temperatures. These sheds are also powered by renewable sources, when possible. The Two Farmers try to ensure their carbon footprint is as low as possible, even for production.

The crisps are then fried by hand and flavoured with local ingredients. Each batch is then tested to ensure a high quality product. Finally the crisps are packaged and shipped to their customers. You will find them in shops, pubs and deli’s all around the UK.
